‘Before the Dawn’ is a metaphor for the period of the artist’s practice before the discovery of the ‘Sunstroke‘ technique. During this earlier period, he explored various themes, beginning with the relationship between humans and nature through biological subject matter and phenomena (2015–2019), and gradually moving deeper into questions of human existence itself by peeling away layers of human skin and flesh in an attempt to seek reality (2019–2024).
Over time, the works became increasingly abstract and darker in tone. In retrospect, this period can be understood as a time ‘Before the Dawn’ ; a period characterized by darkness, silence, and coldness, before the sun reaches the edge of the horizon.
